Him and Her (part 2)
Elsie Riverstone was lying in bed, pondering over the aspects of her life. She had everything, everything except Brent. Since he had left, there was a hole in her heart, and she became the shell of the person she used to be. It was worse because Brent didn't have a phone, or any way to contact her. She often wondered if he missed her at all, or was he ready to forget everything.
Brent, on the other hand, was trying to forget, but how could he? How could he forget the girl who filled up his entire life? Some nights, they cried themselves to sleep, and others, they tried to somehow, tell each other how much they missed them.
A year passed in this misery, and as soon as Elsie turned 18, her parents bought her a car. She drove to college, and eventually moved out.

Elsie was a pretty girl, no denying it. Several people in her college had crushes on her, and she knew. But she also knew that her standards had been raised too high for any of them to ever reach them.
One day, Elsie was browsing social media on her phone when she received a friend request from 'Brent_Riverworth'. She immediately accepted it, but hesitated in contacting him for the fear that he might be someone else. That day, out of a sudden impulse, she drove out of town and towards the camp Brent had told her he was going to live in. But when she got there, what she saw shattered her heart. There was no camp at all. Simply a small path with a sign saying (airport). Brent wasn't at any camp. He had left the city, and lied. Why did he lie?
Then and there she made her choice. She was going to face the woman she dreaded most of her childhood. Rosalie Mint.
Elsie drove to Rosalie's address, the one place Brent hated. When she got there, a sharp woman with dry hair greeted her with a sneer. Elsie asked in despair "Where's Brent? What did you do to him? "
Rosalie answered "He's beyond you now. Brent is in another continent."
Who knows what changed in Rosalie that night, that she gave Elsie his number. Elsie drove off, thanking Rosalie all through the way. When she got to her dormitory, she dialled the number. With every digit, her heart pounded in her chest. And finally, she hit the green call button.
"Hello? " said a voice over the other end, a voice which comforted Elsie countless times, a voice which always meant good things, and a voice she hadn't heard in a year.
"Brent? Is that you? " she said, even though she already knew.
"Yeah, whos this?"
"It's Elsie. Elsie Riverstone."
