Who Cares?
"Everyone stay inside! Bar your doors and windows! Ration food and water! Don't go outside! Stay-" I clicked the TV off.
"It can't be that bad." I said to myself.
A few weeks ago, a plague spread through Australia. It turned everyone there into these zombie creatures in just a few days. After that, it spread to Europe, Asia, Africa, and finally the Americas. People didn't die, they just were zombified.
"How bad can being a zombie be?" I asked myself. I went into the kitchen and got myself a Coke. I turned the TV back on and turned on some cheesy romance from the 70s. The movie felt like an eternity. When it was finally over, I could no longer hear screams outside. I opened the window and peered out. Zombies. As far as the eye could see.
"Oh well," I said. I went over to the door and opened it. I walked outside, through the crowded zombie empire and went over to the nearest fast food restaurant. I found a Wendy's nearby and took some cold fries and chicken from the counter. There was no one there, of course.
"Cool," I said. "Free food."
I walked back home and closed the door behind me. I don't know how I'm still alive. I once heared that they could smell fear. Maybe they couldn't smell me.
Either way, this was going to be a good life. Free food. No bills. No socialization. A perfect paradise.
