Threw out old boxes,
Regrets and photographs,
Empty pockets and lockets,
Burned out all letters, and notes hidden in random pockets,
Deleted messages, your number and everything that reminded me of you,
It was finally time for me to do what I had to do

Packed away clothes, shoes and that stupid hat you liked to wear,
I knew it was to humor me ,just to be fair,
I tattooed your name inside my heart,
But I need to work on a brand new start,
If I don't let go of you today,
I will never move on or find my way

I will always remember you so don't fear,
I will always silently think of you as I wipe away a tear,
But memories are forever and this is the here and now,
Losing you broke me, but I have to move on somehow

Life here on earth won't be the same,
I won't know what detergent you used to get rid of my beloved coffee stain,
I will still sometimes put down two cups or take my phone to tell you about my day,
I will forget that in heaven you don't use phones to say what you have to say.
