i would have enough strength
to play in sports tournaments
i would be a basketball player
shooting my shots, earning your yes.

maybe i'd have enough courage
to talk to your mother
ask for your hand from your father
and get close with your sister.

i would write you songs
and include your name in every line
i would learn how to play instruments
and sing you a rhyme.

maybe in another lifetime
we will be meant to be
