My Steps Retraced (Unresolved)
When darkness comes to steal my breath
I find my steps I do retrace
That brought me to this little death.
My memories they do deface.
They lead me not into the spring,
But to the dissonance of life,
Molded into some different thing
Where to the darkness I am wife.
Where love is nature's awesome theme,
I'm starving for what I can't feel.
I'm aching within fortune's scheme.
I yearn to touch something that's real.
My core design is ebb and flow.
My growing tides are rich with salt.
Will this be all I'll ever know?
Is this pain really all my fault?
My steps retraced bring weary times
That remain in depression's haze.
If only by nature's sweet rhyme,
Hope will float for brighter days.
