My heart pounded, ripped with pain.
My soul drifted around aimlessly.
My mind churned in massive thought.
My body agonized beyond relief.
My spirit yearned for solace.

My now blackened universe crashed
down upon me.
That malignant day I woke to find,
Your stone-cold and lifeless body,
Knelt down in prayer, your hands entwined.

My world abruptly vanished from
beneath my feet.
My stomach churned and bitter bile arose.
My ears rang fiercely with piercing heat.
My head hammered under steadied blows.

My eyes saw you nestled to my disbelief.
Your expression sweetly gratified.
As if you had welcomed the sweet relief.
The instant, you resigned and
languidly died.

In raging unison, these crucible emotions,
Flooded down on me and reached a peak.
I stood by thunderstruck, unable to shun,
What the world would now be,
except for bleak.

Instantly, with shock and blustering ire,
I shrugged it off as though a nightmare,
I heaved away, what had transpired.
For, all-in-all, this was grossly unfair.

You were so young with a beautiful soul.
You had so many plans in mind.
You had finally had your life under control.
Of what would come next, you were blind.

You had innocently and swiftly left behind,
Your most adored and priceless girls.
I prayed you didn't suffer, and that you
had peace of mind,
That your babies would be cherished
like the rarest pearls.

So sadly, life goes on, regardless.
