The Battle
Were choking on darkness
With no end in sight.
Afraid that we may
Be alone in this fight

The captains are lying,
Our weapons are gone.
Though weary from battle
We must carry on.

We worry and wonder and ask ourselves why?
Not finding an answer
We look to the sky.

We cry, sometimes scream,
Beat our chest, pull our hair
Oh God can you hear me?
Oh lord are you there?

The enemy demanded the whole world must change.
And life as we know it
Has been rearranged.

Lost in confusion
We're still standing tall.
A ship without compass we
Answer the call.

The warriors are weary
But know they'll prevail.
They're given no option
To win, lose, or fail.

One day the enemy
Will leave in retreat
And having once fallen
We'll rise to our feet.

A new day will dawn
With new stories to tell.
Of battle born warriors
Surving the hell.
