War from the civilian side
We sit in a dark drenched room
Watching images of suffering and war.
The light from the tv in front of us
Giving us the play by play.
I feel as if I am God
Watching the flood commence.
We talk about the possibilities of the first shell drop
The ruin and reckon it will leave in its wake.
We talk from the safety of our home, good ol’ England.
Here we feel no wrath of the war that fights,
So close to home. Yet no amount of reassurance
Calms the inner...
