I was talking to a guy I knew
From way back in the day
When the road split in two
he stumbled and went the other way
Could I have done something to belp

Should I have dropped everything else
To help him find his way?
Made sure he was okay..

someone I loved so much
Now won't look at me face to face
Turns away
As if I somehow caused the pain
That steered
or made him veer off course that day

what's a little heartbreak
I look at my reflection and I say
People break up all the time
They don't all end up this way
Baggies filling pockets
Peeling skin off of their face
I feel like it's an excuse
To throw in front of their shame
Last I checked a man might change
Upon feeling a disdain
Not find some place
Suck up some smoke
Fold over on display.
