Unrequited
#MothersDayPoem

The fragrance of my childhood,
Hides in the folds of your embrace,
It feels like such a long time but
am sure you remember it all like it was yesterday
Bloody me in your arms
Bawling loudly like a hungry lion
Tiny little fingers wrapped around you as i suckled
My first baby steps and of course the first time i said momma
Your unrequited love for me began before I was born
Now am all grown up and rebellious
I look straight at you and tell you to get out of my room
But you never fail to come back with a cup of hot chocolate
You left before I could learn to love you
Now am left with so much love
I learnt a lot from you momma,I wish we had more time together so I can tell you how much I have learnt to love you in your absence.
I love you momma.
