Silent Farewell
In the silence of the night, your call broke through,
A voice once cherished, now a painful echo.
"Would you risk it all?" you dared to ask,
But the answer lies in our fractured past.
I was the shield against your every storm,
Ready to face the world, to keep you warm.
Side by side, through thick and thin,
Unwavering, I was all in.
Yet, you chose a path that led away,
Leaving me adrift in a sea of gray.
No longer will I stand in your defense,
My commitment, once fierce, now makes no sense.
You are a chapter in my book, now closed,
A story of what was, beautifully composed.
But in its wake, a trail of tears and pain,
A heart once full, now bears a stain.
Seek not my aid, for I have none to give,
To the one you chose, now with them live.
The peace you stole, let me reclaim,
In solitude, I'll heal from this flame.
For every drop of joy, a sea of sorrow,
I yearn for a brighter, lighter tomorrow.
So let me be, let my soul mend,
For in this tale, we've reached the end.
