The Last Meeting - A short story
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the park, Shela and David sat on their usual bench, hands intertwined.

"This might be the last time we meet here," David said, his voice quivering.

Tears welled up in Shela's eyes. "I can't believe it's come to this."

David squeezed her hand tighter. "I have to go. There's no other choice."

Silence enveloped them, broken only by the rustling leaves and distant chatter of children playing.

"I'll always love you," Shela whispered, her voice barely audible.

A single tear rolled down David's cheek. "I'll never forget you."

As the sky darkened, they knew this was truly their last meeting. With heavy hearts, they stood up, each taking a different path, their love a bittersweet memory etched in their souls forever.
