Grammar In Rhythm
A noun is the name of anything;
As school, garden,a kite or king,
Instead of nouns, pronouns stand;
Like his face,your house,my hand,
Adjectives tell the kind of noun;
As small,great, pretty or brown,
Verbs say of the work being done;
To eat,to write,to bring and can
How works are done,adverbs tell;
As swiftly, quickly, brightly or well,
Conjunctions join the words together;
As earth and heaven,wind and weather
Interjection shows us surprise
As Oh!Alas! Hurrah!How wise!
Prepositions stand before a noun,
As on, in,out , behind,up ,down.
These are called parts of speech,
To read,to write, to speak, to teach.
