Looking through my cards,
family and old friends as the senders.

Smiling at memories,
passing through my mind and lingering a little.
Laughing at inside jokes,
all those fun times we had creating them.
My heart melting with appreciation,
so thankful I was to have them in my life.

Tearing up at the separation,
I could never live up to their standards.
Diving to find happy times,
all I see is the big lie i was living.
Trying to move on from my hurt,
only for my heart to shatter again when I am reminded of them.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry,
in the end, doing both.
