If I could, I'd yell at fate
I'd give her a piece of my mind,
Because at this rate, I'm late,
And falling behind

I've cried and I've begged,
For the universe to send a sign
But alas, I stand solo
and my heart hurts from trying

If I could, I'd meet up with her
and hand her a stack of books
with declarations of love underlined, marked chapters, references for her to look

I'll do the research myself, and let her take the credit.
afterall, is it so hard to have a love like what's written,
in all the ways I've read it?
