Sleepless nights.....

In the quietest part of the night,
When you hover between dark and light,
Wondering if you can float away on dreams,
Hoping they won't turn into screams
As darkness envelops the world like smoke,
I imagine a dark shadow wearing a cloak,
I peep from the corners of my eyes through the quilt,
I am curled like a leaf that soon is going to wilt
but I gather some courage and switch on the lamp,
my hands are frozen my sheets seem damp,
then I saw the dark shadow disappearing in light,
realising the fear is only in heart not in the night
