I broke a promise
I made
to myself,
 
I vowed not to love you
but now
it is inevitable,
 
It took a second to drown in your eyes
it took an eternity
for you to realize,
 
Mistakes occur once in a while
but never
are they this vile,
 
The minute you fell in love with her
my world
became cold and murky,
 
I turned into a selfish monster
I do not
regret this,
 
I made another promise to myself
which I will
never break again,
 
I will love you from afar
my heart’s door
will be left ajar,
