The first time I tried to end it all
I got a rope
Blinded by the need to
stop the pain
I tied the rope on the highest tree branch
Then jumped
My joy of finally dying ended too soon
The branch snapped
Sending me trampling to the ground
I don't understand
How did it break
I'm sure it was sturdy enough to
hold my weight
Looking at the pieces around
my feet
They were old and rotten
I guess that was a fail
Dusting myself off
I got up sad
I'll try another day
And maybe it won't end this bad.
