The Forgotten House
#WritcoPoemChallenge
Lost in time,
weaved with memories,
It was but an old house injury
Forgotten by society's tendencies.

Tall grasses and vines,
covered the once grand entrance,
Windows boarded, a decrepit sign,
Nĺo longer a place for habitation.

Yet, it bore witness to a life,
Full of laughter and tears,
The creaks and groans were rife,
Telling stories of long-gone years.

The walls held secrets untold,
Of love, heartbreak, and despair,
A timeline of stories so old,
Etched in the wooden stairs.

Though now just a relic of the past,
Its haunting beauty still remains,
A unique character cast,
In a world where nothing stays.

For it still possesses a charm,
That only age and history can bring,
A beauty that can disarm,
And make the spirits sing.

So let it stand in all its glory,
A reminder of all that has been,
A piece of our illustrious story,
A time capsule, to be seen.
