Corrupting Darkness
We all have darkness, we are not born with it but somewhere along the tight rope of life we slip and fall and it slides right it...the way a sharp dagger does in the hands of a skilled craftsman. It spills into our souls contaminating it slowly. They say time heals but it doesn't, it give the false impression of healing but really what's happening is; our consciousness has the time and strength to cover up our deepest fears, pains and worries and it buries it for us, so we can survive and live to see another day.But then it happens, it emerges on a cloudy day with rage and vengeance. It happens so quickly you forget that it was in you and you begin to question the person you are...the person you believed yourself to be. It's the scariest thing in the world to lose control of yourself like that to say things you promised yourself you'd never say. It's like your soul betrays you and you are lost and confused in darkness again. It plays like your favorite song, over and over in your head it starts off as a thing you love but when it won't go away your love for it vanishes, the pain comes back and your shattered again. The knife twists and turn into your soul dismantling it piece by piece. You know what it's like to fall endlessly and when you clinch your hands to grab onto something, anything and you feel your nails dig into palm as you if you tried to capture air itself. Time passes, you "heal" again, but now you are not tricked or fooled to what time has really done. So now you pray and hope that the darkness within never creeps out again.
