SOBERIETY_
In the stillness of the night, I am lost in the dark
Untill I find my inner light, I think its coming
To guide me through the darkness, to my final haven
To a place of clarity and starkness, I can be free.
No longer drowning in a sea of shame
No longer lost in a haze of time, I am at a stance
I walk the path of sobriety, never to be lost again
Embracing each moment with serenity, I am at peace
No longer numbing my pain, I feel all pain in vein
No longer chasing a high to ease my pain
I face my fears head on, and stand strong of who I am
With a strength that was once gone, I am stronger
Sober and clear-headed, I am no longer embedded,
In the grips of addiction's hold, But free and bold.
With each passing day, I find a new way,
To live my life to the fullest, With sobriety as my truest.
So here I stand, strong and true, The light of sobriety's view,
Embracing each day with grace, I finally feel saved
And finding my true self in this sober place.
