“Let Me Eat”
It's not self-deprecation
if it's true.
I've been far from what I expected I would be
when I was a child hoping to be the savior
that I needed.
Instead,
I became the monster of both
ignorance and knowledge.
I knew the lessons I was taught,
and still committed the sin
I swore I'd never take part in.
Isn't that evil?
I guess everyone had a good reason
to hide from me.
A walking red flag,
a killer in the house,
placing subconscious eggshells
upon the ground.
So now from the shadows
I set myself on fire
to hopefully devour the beast,
and feast on my own remains.
