I am not a poet
They asked me who i was
And i said I'm not a poet.
I'm not dressed in stanzas
And perfumed in limericks.
I'm just a young girl
With a well of words filling within.
A valley flooded with a cocktail of emotions
I am not a poet
My path is not an enjambment
I see the end even before i begin but somehow
I'm a stranger lost in a foreign land
Seeking to fit in without putting her feet in
To the soils and absorb the nature
In words i find solitude
I'm not a poet
I'm not wearing a hyperbole of a hat.
Even when i adorn my words in metaphors
And decorate my speech with rhythm
I am just an ordinary girl
With a river of words flooding her neurons.
I am not a poet
But I would like to meet a poet someday
Drink from the stream of similes
And rest under the shadow of alliterations
Maybe visit the land of imagery
I am not a poet
But who knows
Maybe just maybe...
