Darkness Is A Blanket
He's offered us a way
and only the few saw
blind fools are stupid
groping for a path out.
Darkness is a blanket thrown over our eyes
plunging us into that abyss whilst we wait
silence so loud we are forced to reconsider. For hours dark rules
as an eclipse of a sun
tick tock time treads
its weary feet over us
jackboots of Rome!!
And the storms come
with God's hot wrath
steely fingers of light
stab at consciousness.
This was our mistake
and he was a fall-guy,
pierced is his flesh now
and far away he resides.
Yet still here in hearts!!
