Oh Kansas, where art thou
Thinking of you I lie here alone. Contemplating the trip to you on this phone. Computing the miles to Kansas my mind drifts to your voice. To play me was entirely your choice. To find you so you find my voice. Your whispers in my head can't control the parting words I said. Understanding the feeling in my heart with the promises you said from the start. Saying you weren't like the rest, with your actions forcing my protest. Despite the anger in my head, my heart hurting from the words that you said. Arriving at your doorstep with my heart in my hand. Not knowing where this feeling will land. Your door slamming in my face, alone the path I chose, backwards I trace.
