You become what you think about,
You are what you believe.
That's how I became a quitter,
How is it that I feel so relieved?

I was going to be an actor,
At least that's what I said,
Until no way forward existed,
And I found that dreams were dead.

I was going to be a writer,
At least that's what I thought,
But every word, fool that I am,
Turned out to be for naught.

You become what you think about,
You are what you believe.
That's how I became a failure,
Because I let my fears deceive.

I tried to move forward, get on with life,
I focused my thoughts on what lay ahead.
But the future, it seems, warped how I think,
And sometimes I wish I were dead.

I wanted to dream big dreams,
I wanted to do hard things,
I don't want to believe I'm too young to try,
But the doubt in my mind loudly rings.

You become what you think about,
You are what you believe.
That's how I could become a winner,
That's how my dreams could be achieved.
