Poets of today are saying what they want to say
Regardless of background and other differences
We should remember the listeners and readers that have not yet come.
After we are all long dead and gone,
Where do the next band of humans get their “to do” book from?
From us.
The poets of today will be the prophets of tomorrow.
So write like ya mean it,
Mean what you say
Say it over and over
And eventually they will begin to listen,
wholeheartedly.
