Measure The Pain - 27/01/24
When you were beside me,
Nothing could measure my happiness,
Now in your absence,
Nothing can gauge the pain,
I feel, I breathe, and I live,
Eyes have grown used to being numb,
Lips have forgotten how to speak,
Silence is their constant seek,
Broken heart continues to beat,
Though its rhythm is weak and incomplete,
Days are loneliness's lonesome tale,
Nights invite memories that assail,
Life drowns in a sea of what used to be,
Waves of laughter turned to whispers of "what if,"
The sun you brought, now a distant memory,
Leaving behind a landscape of constant grief,
Every breath a struggle to hold on to air,
As if the world itself no longer cares.
