Unforseen
When I said "I love you",
I did not forsee the thorns
That awaited me,
To prick and poison,
To maim and kil.

My eyes have shut,
Drawing in the darkness,
Coldnesss seeps in, caressing
Icy fingers a vain comfort,
That numbs the pain.

Rains water the streets,
Empty, lonely and distant.
I see them memories,
Each one a dagger,
Piercing and stabbing the heart.

How did I utter those words, I wonder
As I lie here, shackled to this rack,
I simply cannot endure,
No I cannot,
Endure this piercing pain that pulls me under.

The push to the cliff will be my last,
I will jump, to never see and hear,
That face and voice ever again.
