My biggest mistake was letting him in
When I already knew how it would end
I trusted so much, loved with all I had
But somehow he always seemed to be mad
His anger would lead to lash outs and insults
He would masterfully aim and hit all of my weak spots
Watched him transform from man to monster then back to man
At night I'd promise myself "never again"
but my heart was weak, I didn't let him go
