A better world
The world is not for us who dream of a better world.
Is there a world at all?
How did we agree on time zones, exchange rates?
It seems fantastic now, a far-off age.
Today a thousand majorities thump the chest of unity
That conceals a heart of hate for the other.
Better means "for us" to them, not the world.
We don't have a world war yet, that's still true.
For me, i don't feel glad to be gloomy, or to rue
All that's going wrong. Those who cry hoarse and wave
Proud flags, drop bombs, please pause in thought:
Without others there is no unity, no better world.
Better to rally with whom you rave against today.
