Blue Birds
They say blue birds fly everywhere
They sit on the electric-lines,
They sit on the iron-rods of the balcony,
They sit on the flowerpots of the roof-garden,
They make their home in humans' home.
My grandpa had a guava-tree
They say, a crowd of blue birds were always there.

And then one day, every people of my town became bird-catchers.
They brought so many cages,
Some looked like bookshelves,
Some looked like show-cases,
They kept their blue birds there
And show their neigbours- Look!
Just how many blue birds I have caught!

My parents were bird-catchers once,
My little sister is growing up to become one.
Some people say, even I was a bird-catcher in the past
But my birds all died.

I have an empty cage
To fill that up, I walk on the road, searching.
But can't find a single blue bird.
My friends say- Are you blind? Why can't you see?
Look! There's a bunch!
But still I can't see any. I am not blind.
Are the blue birds real? Are they invisible?
Why can't I see?

I closed my door and windows,
Don't want to see any bird-catchers or blue birds.
Waiting, for the call of the Emperor of everything.
When he calls, I'll go to his kingdom
Where no-one runs after blue birds.
