Ode to a friend
Oh my dear loving friend
I dedicate this ode to you
A few years had passed, since you and I-
Had quite the sour goodbye.
We had a wonderful stride
One like no other
Till you took her side
And left me for another.
I was grown, back then
Yet I acted much younger
We let our egos grow larger
Till we couldn't handle it thereafter.
I wanted to make amends
But you wanted to start all over
Until you decided to shut me out
Which broke my heart forever.
I hope you're doing good now
And I hope I cross your mind sometimes, no bother
But the hole in my heart when you had left
Seven years on– had only just gotten bigger.
