Dark Secrets Chapter X
Prince Liam P.O.V
I ran towards the unmistakable scent of my mate. The adrenaline and excitement coursed through my veins like a raging forest fire. I knew I would have to get passed more sirens, but they have never been able to take on my kind.
As I got closer to their little island and out of the forest, I quickly stood behind an old, damp, oak tree. The water of the darkened ocean and white sand were covered with most of the sirens as they blocked the entrance of the cavern. I watched as they turned their heads all around, hoping to catch me. If only they had turned over their princess long ago, we wouldn’t have to be enemies. But they did. My father suspected that they had taken the woman he was supposed to wed. When he and the army survived, they wiped out most of them. It seems that now there was more than there ever was before. The tip of one's tail touched the bottom of the ground as the waves washed around her. Her light brown hair blew in the ocean breeze as she turned toward where I was.
I moved so my back was flat up against the back of the tree, out of her sight. After I was sure she wouldn’t be looking anymore, I turned back. She was gone. I turned around and felt the weight of my body lift up and felt the impact of the earth as I slammed down. My red eyes popped open as I stared at her, baring my sharp fangs. She moved back, but flashed her sharp teeth at me too, standing in an attacking stance.
"You can hand her over and nothing will happen to the rest of you." I stated before continuing. "Or, your life can meet the same end as the other girls did." I threatened.
"You killed her!" She spat.
With one nod of my head, she attacked me. I held the ring and touched it to her skin. The mist began to form around both of us until her entire body had disappeared with the mist. The others seemed to have her their friends scream. They were suddenly surrounding me. I looked around. They blocked every way for me to get out. I stood my place on the sand while some of them stayed in the water and others surrounded the grass leading into the forest. I addressed them.
"Always a pleasure to see you ladies." I smirked.
"You are not to be here. She will not return to you." One growled at me.
I shook my head before speaking to all again.
"You must know my kind have always gotten what they wanted. And all that I ask for is my mate, but since all of you want to do this the hard way..."
I knelt down and slammed the ring to the water. Immediately screams pierced through the air, the waves in the ocean moved up high before crashing down to the shore, the mist being the only thing left. As the screams began to stop, their bodies now lay in corpses in the sea and land. I turned my hand in a whirling motion before the wind picked up and blew their corpses away, blowing them away like dust until there was nothing left of them.
I kept walking down the shore line. A huge cave in the water caught my eye. I made my way towards it. A small, familiar voice carried itself to my ears. I let it sink in, taking a deep breath. Amethyst. I knew her smell, the beautiful scent of lavender, her sweet, soft, quiet voice that could make any mans heart melt and stop all wars. I had found her. I slowly walked into to it.
"You will not have her!" A woman shouted before I was thrown into the water, slamming my head on the ground. Another wave came and splashed over me before I was able to get up. I got back on my feet and wiped my short black curls from my face. My fangs now fully out, I burst into the cave using my speed, knocking the lead siren on her back.
I knew Amethyst was here. The entire cave seemed to smell of her. My eyes landed on a rock in the back of the cave. A long black strand of hair kept moving as the small waves did. There she was. I began taking long strides towards her until I was right by the rock.
"Don't..." The siren coughed. "Don't you touch her." She said, attempting to get back on her feet.
I was right by her side in a second, lifting her off the ground and shoving her into the side of the cave.
"You," I spat, "Should have known not to take something that was mine."
"She will..." She started before my hand tightened on her throat.
I lifted my other hand with the ring on up to her face.
"Do you know what this is?" I questioned.
"A weapon." She choked out.
"Precisely." I smiled.
"Please don't!" Her voice exclaimed.
I looked behind to see Amethyst standing right in the middle of the cave with a long white, thin dress barely holding on to her shoulders. Her hair covered her chest and ended just below her hips. Her eyes seemed to be pleading me and helpless.
I softened my grip on the leader and looked at her before dropping her back down. She broke into a coughing fit before slowly getting to her feet and clutching her red throat. I took a step toward Amethyst as she took a step back.
"Come." I called to her.
