Bloody winter. part 10
He let a light smile. It was the first time I saw him smile. Just seconds ago, I was so terrified of him; just seconds ago, I was hating him, and here I was now, before of him as if he was my friend of many years.
This transition was making me crazy.
He sat on the couch. "I really hope you mean what you said right now because I don't plan on leaving anymore," he said. "Yes, yes, you can feel at home. I think that is not hard for you."
"Where is your phone?" he asked. I gave him my phone and sat on the couch to finish drying my hair, but just as I touched the dryer, my finger cut hurt.
"What's wrong?" he asked. "Oh, it is nothing," I replied, but he grabbed my hand and opened it.
"You have this cut because you lied to me, didn't you learn your lesson? And why is this bleeding? Are you really playing with your cut like a child?!" he was lecturing me as if I really was one.
"When that man came to talk to me, I was a little stressed, and before when you asked me... I didn't want to lie to you, that is why it is bleeding. I'm fine." I said, trying to pull my hand, but the grip was too strong.
I remembered the pain I had to endure when he did that. "He was just like a wolf at that moment and now he is showing concern? What the hell does he think he is doing?"
"Please let go of me, I said I'm fine! "
"Did I ask you that? I think you forgot our deal. You said you would listen. What, did you change your mind?" he said as he was still holding my hand. "I will, I will listen, okay, I'm sorry! "
"That man has a gun on his back. I should be thankful that he isn't doing something bad to me." I told myself.
He took a deep breath and said, "Where is your first aid kit?" It took me some time to catch his words. "There next to the bed," I answered after some seconds.
He took the kit and put a small bandage on my finger. "Don't hurt yourself like this again! I won't forgive it!"
"Why?..Wasn't that the meaning of all that? You gave me pain in order to remember your words and I tried my best. What, will you kill me if I do it again?" His eyes changed to a strong color. Darkness was too little to describe it. He took his pocket knife out. He put it in my hand and said. "Then do one cut to me as well. Make it deep, to whatever finger you want. Any time you play with it again, you will have to make a cut to one of my fingers."
I stayed silent.
"What? You can't do it? Then don't play with it again. ... There is something about you, girl. You are courageous because you can't run away. You can't stare at people in pain and do nothing. Most of all, you can't hurt someone. If you do, I'm sure you will hurt yourself much more as a punishment."
His face was so confident saying all that. He had already understood me through this short time.
"You are right! I can't do it, I won't! " I was furious.
He gave me a smirk as if he was satisfied with my answer. He started closing the box, but I stopped him.
"Aren't you treating your hand as well? " I asked.
"I don't need to; it will heal itself."
"Yes, it will, but not without you wanting it to heal. I don't think you want another scar in your body. ..."
"Be careful with your words!" he said angrily.
"Why am I wrong? No one wants it. I do think healing is harder than making another scar; that is why we believe that causing another pain will make us forget the old one. ... So instead of this knife, then give me that box. "
"Are you sure you want to do it?" he asked. "You said it yourself, I can't stare at people in pain and do nothing. " I took his hand. He wanted to say something else, but then stopped. I put some cream on his wound and some bandages.
"You call me a child, but you hit a wall with all your strength. What, do you call that courage?" I asked.
"Well, it was better than hitting you, wasn't it?" he said in a low voice.
I was a little surprised by that answer. "..Thank you!... I mean it! "

"I think you do regret letting me here tonight. I think I should make something for you so you don't feel that disappointed. Give me that; I'll help you with your hair," he said. He got the dryer and helped me.
"I think this is good enough; thank you!" I told him.
"I think we should sleep now." he said.
"Mh, I'm ready."
Just as before, he locked my hands to the bed and layed on the couch.
