"The Thing" From The Chiarki Mansion. (Part Two)
"We should go to the Mansion"
Are you crazy? Did you not hear what she said?” “Come on Charlotte you wanted this. We didn't come this far to only come this far. We can't just pretend none of this happened.” Chloe said. “What if the evil gets us too?” Abigail said quietly. “Why would our mothers name us Chiarki if they didn't want us to go there?” Layla said, “Does anything about any of this make sense to you? Maybe they were possessed? that would explain everything.” Evelyn said, and the whole table got quiet. “So are we going or not?” They all agreed to go, Abigail and Charlotte were hesitant but they decided to go.
The next day they skipped school and got on the bus to the next town over, Mosos. “So I brought these just in case.” Abigail said, pulling out knives, they all stared at her. “What?” “Where did you get these from? these are like actual knives.” “I'm paranoid, okay.” She gave each of them a knife and the people on the bus stared at them. After about 20 minutes on the bus it was finally their stop. “Why do you think our mums drove 20 minutes here?” “Maybe they like to travel?” Charlotte said.
When they finally got to the mansion they started to rethink what they were doing. It was surrounded by a fence and part of the roof was caved in. All the plants surrounding the mansion were dead. “All in favour of not going in there?” “We have too.” “What kind of satanic bullshit were our mothers into?” Evelyn said looking around. The fence wasn't very high so it didn't take long for them to jump over it. “Did anyone research this place before we came?” “Should we have?” Chloe said.
Abigail pulled out her phone and began researching. They stepped over all the dead plants and animals and stood at the door. Charlotte knocked on the door, “What are you doing no one lives here.” Layla said opening the door, “It's rude to go in a house without knocking.” Evelyn rolled her eyes. It was still day outside so the sun shined brightly through the windows, and the hole in the roof. It wasn't as dirty inside as you would expect an abandoned building to be. All the furniture that had previously been there was still there. There was a grand piano in the corner of the room that had looked brand new. “Guys...” Abigail said looking at her phone. They all turned around and looked at her. “There's a reason The Chiarki Mansion is abandoned… The family that owned the mansion all those years ago. They were murdered-” “-by who?” “It doesn't really say but i think they killed each other” “Hey guys!” Evelyn yelled from the other room, on the wall was a giant portrait of a family. A mother, father and their 3 children. “Thats them!” Abigail said looking at the painting. “Can we go, I'm starting to feel scared.” Charlotte said looking around.
The lowest key on the piano echoed and they all turned around, but no one was there. “Yeah we should go.” Layla said, grabbing the knife. They all quickly picked up their things and slammed the door behind them.
Inside the mansion it felt like you were being watched, like someone was breathing down your neck, but as soon as you left the feeling was gone.
