Born again as a movie star ( Chapter 3)

Rachel and Maria were both actresses. After a long day of work, Maria's manager, Nancy, dropped her off safely in front of her lavish house. Maria came from a super-rich family, with her father being a prominent business magnate. As she entered the house, she walked towards the cozy couch where her family was gathered. Oddly, her brother didn't greet her, but she warmly greeted everyone else. Maria then went to her bedroom and decided to call her boyfriend, Noah.

On the phone call, Noah mentioned that he would pick her up after her shoot the next day, and they planned to go on a date together. Unbeknownst to them, Rachel had overheard their conversation from behind the door, eavesdropping on their plans.

The Next day shooting...

On set, Maria was cast as the main lead, while Rachel was assigned the negative role. Rachel, although not particularly talented in acting, constantly tried to undermine Maria and snatch her position. The script called for Maria to portray the concubine of the crown prince, while Rachel was to play the role of the prince's wife.

The scene was set at a grand tea party, where Rachel and the crown prince were enjoying their time together. Unexpectedly, Maria accidentally collided with Rachel, causing the tea to spill from Maria's trembling hands and onto Rachel's pristine attire. Rachel's face turned crimson with anger, and in a fit of rage, she delivered a resounding slap across Maria's cheek. The scene was intense, and the cameras captured every moment, as directed by the crew.

As the scene played out, Rachel went beyond the boundaries of the script. She unleashed a stream of curses at Maria, exacerbating the pain she had already caused. Maria was taken aback, her mind going blank as a surge of agony coursed through her body, and tears welled up in her eyes. Rachel relentlessly continued her assault, striking Maria repeatedly.

Nancy, Maria's manager, observed the brutality and sensed that Rachel's actions were deliberate, far exceeding the demands of the script. She approached the director, voicing her concern, "Isn't this going too far? Rachel intentionally slapped Maria, and I can see it." The director, however, brushed off Nancy's worries, emphasizing Rachel's exceptional performance. He even expressed his intent to invite Rachel to a dinner gathering as a token of appreciation, praising the authenticity she brought to the scene.

Meanwhile, Maria's pain lingered, both physical and emotional. She contemplated the harsh reality of the entertainment industry, where talent sometimes seemed overshadowed by manipulation and personal vendettas. As she wiped away her tears, a newfound determination flickered in her eyes. Maria resolved to rise above the challenges, to prove her worth, and to reclaim her rightful place in the spotlight.
