Lost Childhood 14
He guessed that would all be up to him, he had not been able to make a great impression recently. He seemed to always do something that apparently upset her; maybe he needed to dial it back a notch. He was probably trying too hard to impress someone who really didn’t know him. He would ease up a little and not appear like he was so eager. After her tip form the other evening, there appeared to be enough suspicion that the people who were occupying the house on the Mitchell’s street to warrant further investigation.

The Commander gave approval to increase the team’s surveillance hours; now they had enough time to post a couple of men eight to twelve hours a day. The good thing about it was he was given permission to use the hours as he chose; he decided to alternate the shifts every other day. Since the activity seemed to be occurring both night and day that is how he alternated the shifts. Each team took the day shift for a week and then they would switch up. Alex was also canvassing the neighborhood for vacant houses nearby; that meant the teams didn’t have to be cooped up in a van for eight to twelve hours a day. There were four teams consisting of two officers each and one alternate team. The alternate team would be on-call to relieve the other teams when there arose a need for it.

The teams had their pick of ten vehicles; they switched up frequently so that they didn’t become too familiar in the neighborhood. They were also instructed to not stay in one place for long periods of time. In addition they were given the task to be on the lookout for vacant houses nearby that could be used for additional surveillance. Something was definitely suspicious about the activity that was happening in that area and Alex needed answers to all the questions he had going on in his head.

What were they doing in the house that night Sara had called them? One minute the house was lit up like there was a party and then in the next few minutes after the car had drove up drove up the alley they all left and not a single light was on in the house. The team needed pictures of people entering and exiting the house to see if any of the persons involved could be identified. That would possibly lead to answers about what they may have been up to or what they were involved in because they definitely didn’t seem to live there.
