Jesus and the 8th Commandment
8th commandment. 8️⃣
Against theft:
Deuteronomy 5:19
[19]Neither shalt thou steal.
Jesus taught this law exposing both the physical and spiritual thieves.

He rebuked the trading done outside the temple calling it as a den of thieves:
Matthew 21:12-13
[12]And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, 😤💸🧮
[13]And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

Jesus commanded to store riches in heaven, where no thief can enter:
Luke 12:33
[33]Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

He was in the midst of two thieves when He suffered in the cross:
Matthew 27:44
[44]The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.

Jesus said that the enemy came as a thief to destroy:
John 10:9-10
[9]I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 🚪🌾
[10]The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.🦹🤺
He said that even a strong man is being spiritually bound in able to steal his life:
Mark 3:27
[27]No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

Jesus has the power and authority to free people from these spiritual thieves:
John 8:36
[36]If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

He reiterated this commandment along the other laws, when he spoke with the rich young man:
Luke 18:20
[20]Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
