My sister's marriage was within the week.Almost all the preparations were done.Guests were coming at every hour. I wasn't getting any chance to talk to Dad.Again and again I was called either for going shopping or for some other work.Dad and Mom was busy in there own.I decided to talk to him after the marriage.
Days passed finally it was the wedding morn. Dad was sitting alone with a cup of tea and with an advertisment in the other hand ,in his room.I thought that it was chance to talk though the marriage was not over till now.No one was around. I came in the room and sat behind him.Before I could say anything,Dad spoke,"Oh so you here,I was about to come to you.See for the first time a coaching institute for Neet preparation is opening in our town."dad said by showing me the advertisement."Fees is abit high but don't worry we will manage it.We want you to become a very big doctor."he continued. I saw the fees ,it was very much.How dad will afford this much and even in the marriage already lots of money is taken!
Ignoring all the thoughts I took a deep breath and spoke everything for what I came .'Dad for teaching I will not be needing any help of institute and now a days salary of teacher is also good and takes less year to get a degree in this line so a I was thinkin..'
Dad spoke interrupting me ,"So you are saying you will not go in medical" then again explaining me,"I told you not to worry about fees we will manage it.You just focus on your studies."
'I don't want to be a doctor Dad, I wanna be a teacher.' I spoke in a breath.
At first dad said shocking,"What?"
I again repeated,"Dad I wanna be a teacher."
Dad stood up angrily."When we all are working hard for you so your mind has gone to gaze the grass."he spoke.Hearing him my mother came and tried to relax him,"Calm down, everyone is out hearing you."
"She is talking rubbish.When we all want her to be a doctor so she is saying she don't want to."dad speaking to mom in a same shouting voice.
I also stood up and spoke in an arguing manner,"That is the problem dad,I know what everyone wants me to be but no one wants to know what I want to be." Mom trying to shut me up and send back to my room but I continued,"I've always done what you ask me to do and now you can't even fulfil my one wish." "Shut up!Aayla" Dad shouted and slapped me.
Tears started coming out of my eyes.Dad never raised his hand before me and now..I became too bad for him just in a moment!!
