Frankenstein: The Creator
FRANKENSTEIN IS DEAD! THE END! Or is it?

He looked at Chris with his vacant eyes.

"What the hell was that?"- he asked Fischer, shocked and confused by what he just witnessed.

"You have witnessed the tale of Frankenstein and his child. The child whom he detested."

"How? I mean, why?.. I... I don't know."

"I have been dreaming all my life for this. You don't know how much I experimented. How much I studied. Now I have made this."

"Dude! What was that?"

"Let's say, it is a kind of a simulator. We can run simulations on it. Look at the details of it. Each and every tree look real. The characters think and feel. Language and communication have meaning" - he talked enthusiastically about his invention.

"..."

"Do you know something crazy?"- Fischer asked in a quiet voice. "The universe have lot of details. It was difficult to find a way to store all this information. The memory was limited. I came up with a solution. Basically, you don't need to store all this information. You just need the main character- Frankenstein. The rest are all created by him. He looks at a dog and there is the dog, along with the ground, trees, people, etc. surrounding it. He looks away and all that turn into literally nothing. He talks to someone and there is that person. He looks away and that person doesn't exist anymore. The details which are important to the story are stored in his memory or in the memory of the story. Rest of the unnecessary details are created by him and are deleted once he stop using it. Frankenstein is alone. His senses are fooling him."

"Wait. I am afraid I don't understand. Is this just like a movie? Maybe something like a computer game?" - Chris asked, struggling to understand his friend's strange invention.

"I guess one can say that it's like a computer game. There are a few differences though. We cannot interact with it. The story is predetermined. Also, the characters feel and think just like humans. They have emotions."

"That is fascinating! I can't believe this!"- Chris hollered enthusiastically. But he stopped suddenly. He seemed to think about something. "They have emotions. Doesn't that imply that they are suffering? Frankenstein actually felt the death of his loved ones. It was not just fiction for him."

FISCHER: That is true.

CHRIS: Why did you create something like this, my friend? He was in pain. All your other similar creations are in pain.

FISCHER: This is a way to learn about the intricacies of life. We love. We hate. We are happy. We are sad. We enjoy. We suffer. All, parts of life. I had to see how the life of a man of a tragic story will turn out. The initial conditions of his life was given. Then everything progressed, according to the laws of this universe.

CHRIS: I can see your point. But never in a million years, I would purposefully subject someone to this much pain.

FISCHER: Chris, do you think, there is meaning for life? Is there any a purpose?

CHRIS: I belive there is. Look around the world. We have the aroma of trees,...
