It was the cool of the evening and the sun was beginning to set in gradually. Standing out in our verandah, the hibiscuses glowed in their lavenders.

The windy trees calmed my nerves. Fiddling with my hair and smiling into the open air, I drew in long breaths and tried to assure myself that I was not crazy.

“I’m Rohit….. I’m Rohit!!” his supple voice came rushing back at me and hugging my quintessence into a devoted daftness.

Just then a familiar ringtone stabbed through my heart, depositing venom of fear that sent my heart racing against itself.

It was Rohit calling! “Hello…..”, I toggled the tone of my voice to be flirty a bit. I quickly realized it was tongue-tying as I hurriedly searched for a better tone. “Yes, this is she….,” I went on.

The rest was history. I never could remember what we said. But we did meet on several occasions and then a kiss redefined our lives forever.
