Kiloa (Part 2)
2

As she waits patiently for her food, Kiloa has only one thing on her mind - surf. After that accident, she cannot do anything at all. She begged her mother to enrol her on swimming class for persons with disability, but out of fear, her mother became overly protective of her. Clenching her fist as the thought of not reaching her dreams, makes her want to do the unthinkable.

"Stop grasping your hand, or it might bleed" a cocky smile meets her eyes, while handing a tray of her orders. Roger, is a childhood friend of her mother. He became the closest relative she had, for her mother was an orphan. A six feet tall, dark with an army cut hair, round eyes, and muscular feature, was Roger. During her primary years, everybody thought he was her father. But Roger, is all but a brother to her mother.

"Hi uncle. Where's mom? Is she not with you?".she simply ask

"She went for toilet. Here's your burger. And here is a present.".handing her was a box wrapped in news paper. "For you. I have no time to buy fancy wrappers, so...".she slowly unwrapped the present. It's a book.

"Not as what you expected?" Roger curiously asked.

"Im not expecting any either. But, thank you. I appreciate it."

"I'm glad you do. I want to make sure, I have left you something, before going on a mission."

"You're leaving? When? Where are you going? And when will you be coming back?" she breathlessly asked.

Roger sit there in front of her, gaging her emotion. He knows how it will make her sad, if she tells her that he will be staying for a long time in Thailand.

"Not long." he lied. "But, I will be leaving on next week. So, there might be no time for us to meet before I leave. And you don't have to worry. We have Skype." he winked and smile sweetly to her, to left and assurance and comfort.

The day went well, without noticing the time. Kiloa's mind were suddenly occuppied at the moment. She knew that being out with her mom and Roger will remove her sulkiness. As the night falls deep, she went to bed with a full heart.
