God is Faithful
Resisting temptation is a tough challenge to overcome, especially as a believer. About 2 years ago, as I accompanied my 80 year-old grandmother to a public clinic after suffering sudden ulcer pains throughout the night. Whilst we were waiting for hours without any care, I realized just how cruel the world is, I mean my granny could've died there and none of the doctors seemed to care. Nurses responding arrogantly when I asked them for help. I must admit my emotions got out of control, I couldn't keep it together. Even my thoughts went wild, wondering why would God allow my grandma to go through such misery when she has so much faith in Him. It also got me thinking I should never allow myself nor any of my loved ones go through such an experience ever again, which means I'll do 'whatever' it takes to have access to better health care, and by "whatever" I meant accepting any job I could find or dating whoever has money just so I could live better. But then moments later I repented from that thought. 'How can I even think of such?' I thought to myself in shame and misery. There are other means to improve our lives financially without selling my body. "Therefore put on God's complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]." (Ephesians 6:13 AMP). If there's a lesson I learned from this bad experience is that our lives are in God's hands, not doctor's, nor anyone else. "It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in human beings." (Psalm 118:8 NIV). Eventually my granny got assistance from other patients, along four amazing women from my church reminded me of how faithful God is, "for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down." (Hebrews 13:5 AMP). God is always Faithful.
