A wet leaf fell on her shoulder making her jump in fear. Startled she shifted from her hiding place behind the bush .
Did she see what she just saw? She had seen Breydan walking down Whitefern Rd. just days before but she didn't think anything of it.
He had been absent from school the past two days, which was unlike him considering he is the captain of the basketball team and the championship game was coming up on Friday. Breydan was a good kid but had fell into the wrong crowd and the guys he hung around with would play these dare games to see just how far he would go. Saturday night the Q boys had a bonfire at the old Miller Farm. Although they were outcasts it didn't stop kids from comin to the party. That night Johnny Quinn, Zeb Thompson, Brice Whitson and Jared Hallsworth hence the Q boys decided that Breydan should ask Becca Ellison to go to jump off rock with him. This all sounds like a cool idea, except for the fact that Becca was way past messed up. She had been drinking since she got there. She followed Breydan to the rock as well as the Q boys, but she didn't know that. Jump off rock looked over the Mason Bay ravine. Once they got there they sat on the rock talking about school, life everything really. Eventually Breydan tried to slip in for a kiss and Becca leaned back in disgust. What do you think you're doing she said. I thought you liked me. I have a boyfriend , Becca said. I want to go back to the party. Just then the guys came out of the shadows and said are you gonna let that slut talk to you like that, while shouting names at her. Becca began to get upset, she was trying to stand up and Breydan was trying to grab her hand but as she got up she lost her footing and fell backward towards the ravine. They all gasped as they watched her fall and hit a rock near the bottom. She's not moving said Breydan. We have to go down there and help her. Serves that bitch right said Johnny. Come on man we have to go before someone see's us! They headed towards the bonfire and most everyone had left. We all have to agree not to say anything ...deal? They all agreed, but Breydan was shook. He went home and thought about what had happened. Had anyone seen? The next day he was sick and layed in bed. The next day the Q boys came to see him and they made sure they all had their stories straight. They had seen Becca walk away from the party but she was really drunk and by herself. Another day passed and Breydan couldn't take it anymore he had to go back and see it in day light he couldn't just leave her like that. Alot of people walked along the ravine, I just happened to be there that day taking pictures for my photojournalism class, and that's when I saw her body and then I heard someone coming so I ducked down behind the bush.
