They reached the old palace situated in the dense forests of Neduvankodu, a remote village far away from the city of Kochi.
As she stepped within the boundaries of the eerie forest, she had not experienced a chilling sensation until then.
the cab driver helped with the luggage on the way in.
He exclaimed in his tamizhan style, " Madam, This, your room.. clean of me.. servants are coming tomorrow. I, go now and arrange for food. You have the Kottaram* now, you can rest."

*Kottaram- palace in malayalam

turning towards her assistant, " Sir, your room is on the other side.

She walked into her room, although exhausted, she felt restless to see the other rooms of the Kottaram*.

After taking break, She looked around to find the Kitchen to prepare some Kaapi*

*Kaapi- Coffee in South Indian languages

On the way past the main hall, she saw a room with a broken door and to find something gleaming through the gap of the wooden beam that held it.
Intrigued by the light she walked towards that room. She had a brief look at the door and the structure around.. Old,antique, gold ornamental hand crafted work of a serpent face, looked like that of a king cobra, still with a dull shine. she touched the door and a storm of dust came at her face..
stil coughing, she pushed the door which was resisting to give away due to the long settled spider cobb webs, embroidered in its own tapestry.
There was no light inside the room. she went ahead inside to get the windows open.
The pigeons on the roof, hooved and flew away at the sound of old hinges grinding to the lever.
She turned around to find an old dresser with shackled mirror dangling from its joints, partly in the air. a small pot barely the size of a baby's fist was on the desk. She opened to find *kumkumam

*kumkumam - vermillion / red colored powder usually worn by women as to indicate that she's married.
she had a curious smile on her face. then the she looked around the room and then tried to pull on the drawers. It was locked!

she again pulled it with might thinking it must be because of the dust settled over the years.
She pulled again, No luck.
