Lessons From COVID-19 Pandemic

When the number COVID-19 cases in my country, started rising, I was like, “err...okay”. I had thought that this would be some sort of Ebola Incidence in Nigeria too, but how wrong I was! 6 weeks later, a lot of things have changed and it just seems like someone pressed the ‘pause’ button on Mother Earth’s console.
In this time, I have learned some lessons. Some of these are:

Being Intentional About Our Relationships: Friends and couples are now more intentional about their love for one another. We learn new things about each other, in many cases through a medium, and ensure we are constantly communicating our love. Sometimes, lovers celebration of their love “when things were normal”, on social media make members of the Single FC go “God when?” It’s always so sweet to see.

Parent-Child Relationships: this period, parents and children are learning (new) things about each other and generally strengthening their relationships.

Personal Development: A number of online learning platforms like Coursera, Udemy, edX, are either giving fee discounts or making some of their materials free this period so these can be accessed by more people. A lot of people have been trained through these opportunities thereby engaging in personal development.

Rest: While the world is currently on a break no one asked for, many are happy for the break from their usual seemingly unending bustle.
Essentially, many have had to recognise their priorities and give more time to these. When this is over, I hope we do take regular time-out to do this.
