Sunny Fever
The fever starts up again then it falls. I lay in bed staring at my not quite white ceiling, thinking about everything yet nothing. Bells start to chime in the distance, 'from the church' I presume. Accompanied by wail-sounding voices, rustling leaves and the dinging of my neighbour's ratty bike, it creates quite the unusual melody. That is, until the wails get louder. 'They're singing' I assure myself. 'Not like it sounds like it though' my mind quips. My eyes wander from the ceiling to the only window in the room just in time to catch sight of the neighbour's dog ploughing through our vegetable garden. 'Hah!' I scoff, too weak to do anything more. 'Mum! That damned dog's at it again!' I yell. The sound of heavy and hurried footsteps start up followed by a loud bellow 'Damned old man! Get your damned dog out of my garden!'. 'Hahahaha!' I laugh, hysterically rolling about my bed and with a thump, I'm on the ground. I drag the covers off the bed and to the floor. Burrowing myself into them, my fever picks up again. 'Figures' I sigh, drifting off to sleep after having my fill for the day.
