It's All Written In The Stars (Ch 1)
Prologue
The darkest the sky has been in centuries, even the faintest of the stars were visible with naked eyes. It seemed like the stars were giving a sign, but no one was observant enough to understand the mystery. Scientists gave a rational explanation of why this happened. Little did they know that someone was doing it as an honour to someone special.
It was a windy night. The climate was freezing as it was the start of Autumn. The streets of Wiltshire, England were empty as curfew approached. Meanwhile, in The Scott Manor, Ellie Scott, a beautiful young woman, was struggling as she gave birth.
The clock struck twelve as the baby was born.
The midnight sky shone with bright stars and the beautiful crescent moon. The baby cried, and it was heard through the silence of the night. An older woman, the mother of Ellie Scott, and the wife of Ethan Scott.
Louella held her granddaughter close to her, rocking back and forth singing a sweet Lullaby, smiling at the baby with adoration and joy. However, Ellie Scott did not appear pleased, she appeared indifferent and troubled. It was obvious that she only loved the baby's father, and she was not happy about her daughter being born without marriage.
Ellie's parents were disgusted to hear that their only daughter was pregnant with an unknown man whom she met in America, but they changed their minds. Ellie, on the other hand, did not, because the man she loved left her to raise their child by herself. He said he cannot live with her or marry her for unexplained reasons.
"What are you going to name her?" asked the older woman.
Ellie was not interested in her daughter at all, so she just thought about something common, but something caught her eyes. Out of the huge balcony. A Constellation.
"Aquila. Aquila Estelle Scott," said Ellie in a cold voice.
After a month of Aquila's birth, Ethan and Louella arranged a respectable marriage for Ellie to Asher Johnson, a 21-year-old man from the pure-blooded family of Johnson's.
Asher was informed of Aquila's birth as an unfortunate mistake happened in America, as Ellie was cheated by her boyfriend whom she was about to marry. Asher accepted Aquila as her daughter and raised her. Later, Ellie was pregnant and with her second child.
It was a baby boy, Ellie and Asher were delighted as their child was born. Ellie gave all her love to her son Eric Richard Johnson and resented Aquila while Asher remained neutral, but one cannot love a step-daughter as their child. At least purebloods can't.
Years passed as the Scott siblings grew. Aquila had the darkest black hair, almond-shaped turquoise eyes, which was too beautiful to go unnoticed. It was bright turquoise in sunlight and teal in dark. She had pale skin which was paler than a normal person would be, but still not ghostly pale. She had long lashes, thick dark eyebrows, thin lips, and a natural hint of pink in her cheeks.
Eric, however, was different in appearance, he had dark brown hair and light tan skin. He had vibrant blue eyes and a pointed face. Eric mostly resembled his father and a little bit of his mother. But Aquila had only a few similarities to her mother compared to Eric, because she looked like her real father, but she doesn't know about her real parentage. One day she'll find out about him and her unexpected life.
It's been six years since that fateful day of her birth, she grew up to be a quiet and intelligent girl. Whenever Aquila wants to share her thoughts or feelings, her mother only replied 'I'm busy' or 'Go away', so she became quiet and kept her emotions and thought to herself.
Aquila never truly knew the true world. She was kept inside the Johnson Manor her whole life when she asked why she cannot go outside. They simply said 'It's dangerous, and there are horrible monsters and terrifying creatures', without any contact with the world. Her only friends are books.
Even though she is diagnosed with ADHD, she loves to read. She has read approximately five thousand books. Both novels and knowledgeable books. Aquila loves astronomy. It's her favourite thing than anything other than chocolate.
She can name all stars and constellations without even trying, which is weird, but no one ever seems to care about her strange ability. Well, she lives in a wizarding world, so magic is everywhere.
Aquila always loved her parents and her younger brother. Being a pureblood means you need to be well mannered, and Aquila is a disciplined girl who stays in line. Her brother, however, is rebellious and mischievous.
Aquila always wondered about the world and how it would be, but she doesn't know reality is something very different from what she dreamt it would be...
