MAHARAJA- Sourav Ganguly
I am not a cricket lover, but nowadays, the craze of cricket increases greatly in every Indian. I'm a Bengali, so obviously DADA is an inspiration for us.

Today, 8th July 2024, is his 52 years of surviving in the world. He was born on 8th July 1972, into an affluent family. His parents chose to give his name SOURAV, which means "MAHARAJA" OR "THE EMPEROR". Maybe his parents predicted that his son would be Prince of the CITY OF JOY.

When I was reading out about his lifestyle, career and his background, I came to know a fun fact. That is why he is called a left-handed bat's man. He is naturally a right-handed person, but he used his left hand for batting. He learned this skill from his elder brother Snehashish Ganguly, just because he couldn't find his pair of gloves for his right hand. Isn't it cute?

He was first seen as a player in the team Mohun Bagan. After that, his career pulls him towards cricket. He became the most successful captain in the history of the Indian cricket team. His positive attitude and hard work for the India team made him a favorite of everyone.

In 1999, it was a turning point for Ganguly. He scored a magnificent century against Sri Lanka with the cooperation of his teammate Dravid. This tournament took the Men In Blue team to the finals. But unfortunately they lost by Pakistan. But it gives SOURAV a big stage.

After the World Cup, in 2000, Sourav Ganguly was appointed as the captain of the India team. This Era was known as "Ganguly's era". After arriving at the Indian Cricket Team, he modified several unorganized things, like‐ he chose selective team players, awarding cricketers according to their merit not for their bias, and so on. He is also famous for how he used to motivate his players as a captain. His spiritual power and especially his communication skills. His strategy was—"Tell and Sell" & "Underscore and Explore".

One of his deeds made him so famous. That is his NetWest shirt whirling. This incident was marked by the joyous celebration of the birth of the MEN IN BLUE. It was an unforgettable memory for every Indian.

In 2008, he took retirement from the international cricket team, and now he is currently president of the Cricket Association of Bengal(CAB).

His hard work, determination and leadership made him the greatest of all time.

We Bengalis called him by his nickname - DADA. Currently, he is doing a show on Zee Bangla called Dadagiri, and you know every bengali loves to watch this. Still, now he got a proposal on the show.
